The Woman Behind the Mission

Lateesha Rayford
Founder & Executive Director
Detroit
Native
“It was time to create an organization that truly focused on empowering our youth with the tools they need to build peaceful, productive futures — and to make sure those tools were accessible to everyone, regardless of background.”
Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Lateesha Rayford witnessed firsthand the devastating impact that conflict, violence, and lack of resources can have on communities. She saw a gap — young people needed guidance, safe spaces, and real tools for navigating life's challenges.
Driven by deep love for her community and an unwavering belief that change is possible, she founded Community Love Incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit to provide free, accessible, high-quality programming for children and disadvantaged individuals across Detroit and the nation.
Under her leadership, Community Love has grown into a nationally recognized organization delivering transformative programs — at absolutely no cost to participants — while preserving the authentic, community-rooted spirit that started it all.
